Changing People's Lives one person at a time!
It is interesting to note that the most restrictive communist country of the world is known as, “The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.” While the term “Democratic People’s Republic” is used in almost every communist country name, you have to visit for yourself and live inside before you can judge what those words really mean.
The communist country of North Korea is about the size of Florida, and home to more than 23 million people. A number of government federations have welcomed Changing People’s Lives, Inc. to North Korea, and have been very cooperative in building a partnership towards helping the wellbeing of their own people.
Currently, Changing People’s Lives, Inc. is one of the few ministries actively engaged in North Korea that supports the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Our CPL President, Pastor Eliseo Lozano, said the following about North Korea in a recent report:
“North Koreans come across as being quiet, indifferent, difficult to engage in almost anything, but I have discovered in a number of trips into their homeland that I was wrong. They are humble, open in their feelings. They hold pride in what they know and are thankful for what you can do for them and with them!”
Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea, used to be the center of a vibrant Christian community in the past. Its rich spiritual history inspired its nickname: “Jerusalem of the East.” The government is very slowly opening the door to approved religions. One of the most inspirational moments of Pastor Eliseo’s life was when he first heard a North Korean choir singing, “How Great Thou Art.” If you were ever to join us on a mission trip to North Korea, it carries a profound meaning when you listen to the sincere prayers of the people at one of those few churches that have embraced the meaning of your bible, your faith and the belief in God.
Through the support of CPL Faith Partners, we’re able to lead a number of projects in North Korea, such as the most appreciated blankets for the winter season, sleeping mats for the elderly, providing bibles for the North Korean people, and giving most needed corn and food. In general, we also remain actively involved in the recent establishment of the first Christian Dental Clinic in the capital of North Korea. We are also working on some other very unique, spiritual-related projects.
Life in communist North Korea is not easy, people there do things differently however Changing People’s Lives, Inc. maintains a clear policy of no political intervention as we do ministry there and as long as we remain that way we will continue to be a tool in God’s hands for the people within the communist country of North Korea.
It’s exciting to be part of a life changing experience within the communist countries of the world. Would you please keep us on your list of priorities in terms of ministries and support next time you choose to send a donation to advance God’s mission? Become a partner with us into North Korea and you will discover how you could change the life of a child, or an elderly person who has lived a long life, or a father who wants only the best for his family, in such a profound way. Those in North Korea are calling to you!
"Then I saw another angel flying directly overhead, with an eternal gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on the earth, to every nation and tribe and language and people".
